Do you want a hands-on environment where you work in a group, are taught in a large class, and get to work with others? If you are going to enroll in a course with others, are you going to be involved in activities with other students? If so, how are you going to maintain relationships that will help you reach your goals?A few years ago, I attended a university with an extensive range of academic areas. Many of the classes I took were lecture based, meaning that I learned little in the class, but instead learned a great deal by reading the notes that the professor distributed throughout the semester.Other classes were 'add-in-the-note' (AIN) classes, where students would be assigned with reading notes that were given throughout the semester. This made for a great deal of free writing time for me, and I was able to hone my writing skills while also learning a great deal. However, so me students found this type of learning challenging and this also can be a valuable learning experience.Students at a campus with a range of diverse cultures often have more opportunities to learn, interact, and develop relationships. As a result, they come to college with a deeper understanding of culture, history, and interpersonal skills.A student who completes a program that focuses on cultural diversity will have the opportunities to learn about other cultures, learn about the world around them, and learn how to use these skills to influence those around them. All of these are things that all students are seeking to do when they enter college, so it makes sense to create a plan for how you are going to make this happen.
